Visual Instrument

This is a site specific installation created for the La Napoule Art Foundations’ Do You See What I See? exhibition which was designed to expose children to art making. The installation consisted of two versions of a game that generated a melody through touch or the motion of hands moving in air. For this project, I collaborated with UCD music Professor Paul Musso who supplied the audio samples and explained how melodies could be achieved through specific note combinations. I mapped these notes to objects on screen, which allowed the children to generate endless melodies by interacting with the both devices. The show took over the Freight Building, Denver in 2012.
