Luciferase
This installation consists of 25 glass bottles suspended from a false ceiling in the gallery, each bottle contains a video projection of current (if anyone is present) and past faces captured as people walk among the bottles. The images slowly fade in and out in a random rhythm. The title, Luciferase, is a generic term for a class of enzyme found in light emitting organisms such as the firefly. The videos fired on and off randomly showing the recent visitors to the gallery creating a rhythm similar to a field of fireflies.
