This interactive work is a response to Serena Chopra’s poetry and our discussions about themes in her writing that relate to themes I have explored in my artwork.
We talked about implicating the viewer into the work, viewers do not simply look at this piece and hear her recite her poetry, they become part of the piece. The resulting design is an interactive video work, that requires the presence of the viewer to operate. As a person approaches, a figure on screen reacts to their presence and she collects a picture of the visitor to carry around with her.. Throughout the day, images of people will accumulate and add to the burden of the on screen figure.
