- Prototyping and Kinetic Sculpture for the Digital Body
Brainiac Group – Interactive Media II
We have already been introduced to the basic concept of this project and the sculpture students – to create a kinetic sculpture that explores some aspects of the digital body. Part of the goal with this project is to learn to work across disciplines utilizing each area’s expertise to create a project that would be difficult for any one person to make. In addition, we are going to be learning how to design a virtual prototype and then create a physical prototype with the sculpture students.
For our class, we have specific goals in terms of thinking about user interaction, creating meaningful user interaction and learning to implement interactivity through various kinds of software. The design and aesthetic decisions are important and for the individual section you are to create a well?designed web page that will demonstrate your knowledge of interactive design.
The group portion of the project is to help and assist the sculpture students in the software and Arduino coding to create the desired physical object and to document the process as you go along so others can learn from your work.
